Got this one back from Mr. Wexler recently. I like doubled ear varieties and have a number of them, but have been hunting the 1944 WDDO-020 as it's a pretty good doubled ear and I've never seen one. Anyway, found this one and it wasn't -020 so I submitted it. Came back as the newest doubled ear variety and my first certified discovery of one. I found it in a B/U 1944 roll with a mix of toned coins and red coins mostly of nice grade. In the roll were two of these and I have one toned (this one, the plate coin on doubleddie.com) and one full red one. They will be sent off for grading next time I send out a batch. 1944 Lincoln Wheat cent WDDO-025 doubled ear and eye

Very nice find and congratulations! It's pretty awesome to discover a brand new, unlisted Doubled Die on a 1944 LWC.

I'm not sure about the eye but the little bump under the ear is the doubling.

Hi Bate, Waynoah has the ear, which is a minor doubled earlobe visible right below the normal earlobe. The doubled eyelid is also quite minor and visible south of the regular eyelid. Not a huge addition to the pantheon of doubled dies, but I like doubled ears and even a small one is a cool find for me.

This one just came back with the label giving it MS-64 and "discovery pc". I want to get some more of my finds slabbed and this was the test subject to see what they would put on the label. Works for me.

Very cool! Congrats on the DDO plate coin. I'd say that it's good to hear that Wexler didn't bat an eye, and listed it, but I'd sure have to duck and cover after that pun.
