*** Edited by Staff to Add Year / Mintmark / Denomination to Title. Titles are Important! ***What year was the last eyelid doubled die? Can it happen in this single press method? Found something and I can not press it with a toothpick so I'm thinking zinc dust messing around with the copper but thought I would ask just to see if it it possible still since I haven't heard about one lately. 2009 D presidential. Not sure about the last known year for the Doubled die eye Variety. I have a 1955 D DDO-001 with the Doubled eye. I have found quite a few with MD that makes the eye area appear doubled. Pics are needed to better evaluate your cent.

I have an image of a 1966 with a doubled eyelid: A 1992 was thought to be one: Some still claim it is: I need to see if he has changed his thought on this one though? Quote:
1992 1¢ WDDO-002 "Best Of" Variety
Description: A very strong and tilted extra eyelid shows to the east of the normal eyelid. Some doubling can also be found in Lincoln's beard.
Die Markers: Obverse: A small die gouge (dot) can be found below the first nine in the date. A short die scratch runs SE from the front of the beard. Reverse: A strong die gouge can be found above the E in CENT. A die gouge can be found SE of the second A in AMERICA.

CONECA doesn't list list any longer.

Well I'm not saying that the 1966 is the last one, it is just the last one on my image host shows. (except for the 1992 cent) I use a date address for my files to help find the desired images. But there may be another one that I'm not added to my files.

I did an overlay and eyelid and eye both seem to line up pretty good...any thoughts?

I see a downward tic on the right lower of your shown anomaly that doesn't match the shape of the front portion of a normal eyelid. Could it possibly be a moved bubble(or material under plating) acting like PDD? The single squeeze method is known for the "popping effect", similar to MD in that a shift occurs during the press, making a loud noise, hence "pop". And, since it is well known for the central location DDRs(finger), why not more show up? Hmm, consider that the die placements have switched in single Squeeze, the anvil die has now become the reverse, hence more mechanical moving parts.

Your last pic looks to show a line of plating bubbles in line with your eye anomaly . If so I would think it's a plating issue

Looks like a plating issue to me as well.
Errers and Varietys.

Try pressing it down with a toothpick. That might tell you if it is a bubble or not?

I have pushed moving it back and forth on it and enough pressure to break the toothpick. It's still there. Kind of looks like almost the length of the eyelid?

Killians you will run into these once in awhile if you go through alot of bank boxes of cents. I have an Abe with a chip going through his nostrils shaped like a bone nose pierce another with Abe wearing a featherd ear ring like a George Michael's. I agree with the others its a chip or plating issue. Put it in a 1x1 holder for reference I have about 20 outrages cents with chips or bubbles in weird places. Wait till you find a double headed Lincoln, people on the forum have found crazy stuff. Docent match up with the 92 doubled eye. Coop can you tell me when the last year the Lincoln Cent will be made? Bet crazbo knows...he knows everything. Ok sorry I stop with the one liners already.

Killians , I'm hoping this does not confuse the issue with my examples that I'm going to use. A doubled die like a doubled eye is formed by the high points of the hub , on which the design elements are in relief just like the coin. The perimeter of the eye lid is most times not what you will see. Look at the high points of the design and how the design fades down toward the level of the field and this will be the shape of the doubling. It's much like copying in three Dimensions the tip of a mountain. This pic is of the doubled eye of my 1939-S rpm#1/WDDO-002 . You can see the rounded shape of the top of the eye lid in the doubling. This also is the case with rpm's This pic showed my 1928-S rpm#3 on the left and my 1928-S rpm#4 on the right. The left pic shows the rpm to the north but not following the outside shape of the mintmark. The pic on the right is an rpm but more importantly it's closer to mint state so that the high points of the mintmark will show and I have drawn on it to highlight. Hopefully you can see how the rpm in the first pic follows the high points of the S .
