Hi All, I have a ring that was my husbands grandfathers. It has a 1927 Indian Head Gold Coin in it. If we were to sell the ring, would it be more advantageous to categorize it under coins or jewelry?
I would have the listing under both categories (if possible) There could be a (coin)collector out there that would want it but never see it under jewelry.
Don't forget the band is likely 10k or 14k gold as well. If the band is hallmarked (it should be) it is pretty easy to calculate the total gold content. The coin alone contains 0.121 troy ounces of pure gold with a total weight of 4.18 grams.
