Can you take the picture with the flash off? Grade: VG08. Cleaned? The flash gives this appearance.

Is there a grading scale on these coins which gives a fairly definite and accurate condition on each and every coin?
regards

those are few pictures off of ebay, I cant get a good picture with my camera (with any coins, any tips?). Eagle unfortunately I did buy that coin, see I just started collecting a week ago.... I was so excited that I was on ebay bidding on a lot of "cheap" coins luckily I only won two..since then I have decided to start out with pennies/wheats, got a book and everything can't wait to receive them!

ImTheCrew........

With pictures, I think it's just "macro setting" and practice, practice, practice !
And hey !...I know what you mean by the fever, the addiction, the moment in "bidding" on stuff......I don't do ebay, but I do go to coin auctions, coin shows, estate sales with coins, estate auctions with coins......and I still sometimes buy something I shouldn't have and deeply regret ! Ha Ha......I just try to keep that from happening too often !...

I like to use Photograde. It is a great book with pretty good descriptions of minimal areas needed for a coin to attain each grade. I can't remember the authors first name, but I think his last is Ruddy. Maybe James Ruddy? Hopefully that helps to answer your question.
