I feel sorry for Iustinianus I (edit: Justin I). He looks like a skeleton.. A very compact and striking coin. It's beautiful in its own distorted way imho.. I couldn't resit to buy it for a bargain.

I think any coin of one of the greatest emperors in history deserves a place in every collection (no matter the condition). I would have picked it up as well, just to give it a good home.

Nice Job!

My best example of Justinian

Love that one! Is it possible to label mine (skeleton-like figure + coin-shape) under a certain type/mint?

The coin is actually Justin I, SB 70a. Nice early coin.

It is? I'm also reading Justinian myself... too many letters to be Justin.

(This would make it SB 166, if I'm reading Wildwinds correctly.)

Check out SB 70a, SB 166 has a Cross on each side and SB 70a has a star on each side as this coin does.
