good evening to all, I'm new to the coin Community here and look forward to being a part of it gaining knowledge and sharing experiences! recently scoured through a couple decades worth of pennies saved from pocket change and about 500 nickels before redeeming them to make sure I wasn't throwing away anything that could be potentially valuable and suddenly found myself immersed in coin collecting so here I am, I had many fun and interesting finds and after hours of research online it appearsmost of my finds are not super valuable but fun to keep, there is one find that stands out though and I haven't been able to find any information on it which makes me cautiously optimistic I may actually have something rare here can't wait to hear what some folks with much more knowledge than me think of it! thanks in advance for your help and it's great to be here! I will attempt to post an image in a minute

thanks ,and sorry sorry it took so long to upload! notice how the T in Liberty is an undefined glob smashed in against the r then a huge gap in between there and the Y which also looks oddly small, date looks a bit cockeyed too or maybe that's just me

Gotcha, that blob is a die chip. Not uncommon at all. The weakness in the Y was caused by an overpolished obverse die.

You have a very nice LIBERTY Die Break "die chip". We don't see many in that location, II-F-6: "RIT".

Your coin is listed in the "BIE Handbook" as 66-6EL+1 on page CVIII.

It is also listed on page 111 as 66-B1150 in the 1969 edition of "THE CLASSIFICATION AND VALUE OF ERRORS ON THE Lincoln CENT" by Jean Cohen .

It is not listed on the Broken Die Errors/Cuds-on-Coins Site.

Ok so its sounding like although die chips are not uncommon as a whole they are much less common on the year of coin I have ,and in the location its in. JC Stevens can you tell me if this has the potential to be very valuable? or is it more just a fun keepsake?
either way I think it's a super cool coin I'm going to hold on to it unless it's worth big money, I am aware that obviously the fact its circulated would take away significant value , though I'd say it's certainly in better-than-average shape for a 50+yr circulated coin. thanks so much for your responses!

Thanks coinfrog! finds like this made it worth it to take a few rainy days to go through all my old change before just blindly dumping into a Coinstar machine!
