Is anyone collecting these? I see there are four out so I assume they are recent. Seems odd for a 1 ounce 99.9 silver coin (medal) the weight isn't marked anywhere on it. I would think they could have put it on the rim. I don't like the bronze ones but the silver medals seem to be growing on me

Items being sold as bullion would normally be marked but it would not be unusual for medals to be unmarked.

Yes medals usually wouldn't be marked but these aren't really medals are they? They call them medals but it isn't like any of them are given for any reason just sold more like a coin

They say "medal" right in the name of the product... not sure what you're getting at.

Having collected all the Coin and Chronicles sets (many of which include silver presidential medals), I've been tempted to do this series.

They are, it doesn't have to be earned like the Medal of Honor for something to be a medal.

No they are more of a commerative medal issued to commeratite every president so yes, you are all correct, they meet the definition of medals. To me the intent seems more of a collectors item to sell than the traditional reason for a medal which is to celebrate or reward a person or event. I'm not knocking them I like them and am buying them

A lot of recent medals from the mint would fall into this category as well.

IMHO this makes them just another 1 ozt silver round, and an expensive one at that.

These are silver versions of the U.S. Mint "list medals" belonging to the President of the United States continuing series.

These Presidential medals stay on sale indefinitely, in what the U.S. Mint calls "list medals", meaning they are struck to order instead of remaining on sale for a limited time like most other numismatic products.

Which is a good thing for me. I want to get them to go along with what I have from my C&C sets, but I do not have room in budget for them at this time. This is something I can get down the road when I can.

Same question as janxenro: how many members of CCF collecting this series? I guess it's a niche/small group?

Also, I saw 3 options/package for the medal: plain medal, medal with portrait bundle, medal with engraving bundle..... so each of the extra large portrait/print add $5 cost to the package/option? I'm not sure if they are worth it? Anyone had experiences collecting these?

I have the first four and a subscription. Don't know what I will do when they start hitting presidents I don't like but I will probably stay in to the end
