I just got this coin delivered today. Looks to me to be a DOT/BAR in MS64 grade.

Anybody disagree? I noticed another recent post regarding the DOT/BAR and this looks pretty much the same.. Maybe this break is a little more advanced.

I'm pretty stoked!

And

Anybody want to ball park a value on something like this?

Thanks

Well done! I would say it is a 1936 25c DOT-BAR. MS64! WOW! There was a MS62 sold on Heritage Auctions recently.

Sold for $1320 US but only as a "DOT", I dont think anyone saw the DOT-BAR, except me .

MS64 Trends is $6000 for the DOT alone.

I still cannot figure out why all the excitement about a die crack in an obvious weak spot of the reverse die...

nice pick up..what did you pay for it? I wouldn't pay any extra for a die break variety, but that is just me..

I wonder why, if that's the weak spot why on other dates there's no breakdown there

I paid $5475. for the coin and I recently started a coin biz.. with the idea of righting off expenses, getting my GST back, and therefor keeping the cost of the coins as low as possible. I'll send a bunch to auction or sell on Ebay perhaps.. (certain amount per year) but the idea is keeping the cost of inventory (collection) as low as possible.

I have a few 10 cent pcs , (various years) with a similar die break, but I don't see many 25 cent pieces with a die break there. However , I do have a MS66 1919 25 Cent pc. that has a die break there.

I love the toning as well and think it adds to the eye appeal. Overall Pretty Rare Coin if you ask me.

Fantastic Coin! Quite scarce indeed. May I now recommend the 1936 25c BAR?

Here is my 1936 25c BAR in PCGS MS64 BELZBERG
