With all of the post-mint physical and environmental damage on this coin, it is difficult for me to judge if this coin came from the mint with a strike through grease on both sides or if it was a die adjustment coin or if the whole coin has been merely "rubbed the wrong way".

Definitely Struck Through Grease for sure. Neat find! A keeper in my opinion.

What is the weight of this coin? If it is under weight that may account for some of the weakness we see on the highest devices. But if the weight is normal, then it is a grease fill issue on the dies. The rims are not showing contact damage, but the faces of the coin appear to show contact damage. So weight help us to figure out what could of happened? (The reverse is showing an issue with PIDT (Progressive-Indirect-Design-Transfer) But the devices looks like it was altered?

Weight is pretty much on point, so it has been Struck Through Grease.

BY THE WAY..... I've posted this one on eBay for auction. The quarter, not the album. Ha!

Fun experiment.
