I just got $25 in cash into my PayPal account, and I was wondering:

Are there any eBay sellers you would recommend? Looking through the recommended seller thread, most of the sellers were either AWOL or inactive. I like davenders but his prices seem a little on the high side.

Any suggestions would be gladly appreciated. Reason I'm asking is because I'm thinking about buying a coin or coins from there.

I'd recommend starting with what you want to buy, searching that, and then buying it. If what they send isn't right, ebay will side with you, the buyer.

There are many good sellers on e-Bay with a smathering of not so good ones . Buy a coin from a seller that looks good and has allot of positive feedback and see what he sends you . If you like the coin , has no problems, free or cheep postage and price was right then buy from him again . If not then simply delete him . Everybody has their favorites and their list of slugs . It's best to have your own .

I agree with TBop. Search for the coin first by grade, condition, price with quality photos then evaluate the seller. You will get more coin for the buck doing a eBay search for the coin than going to a particular seller. If you have any reservations about the seller, then, ask on forum and the members will give the straight scoop about the seller.

Why not post a want list on here. Members here may have what you're looking for.

Good advice from all. Be sure to pick an eBay seller that has a large positive feedback rating and who offers full return privileges.

Fortunately, eBay has skimmed most of the crud off the bottom of the pond.

As mentioned - look for the coin first.

If you have any doubts show us the coin before you buy it for honest opinions.

The overwhelming majority of eBay sellers are just fine including newer ones and ones that clearly aren't full time dealers. If you avoid Chinese sellers (or stick to domestic sellers would be even better), stay away from raw valuable coins, and stay away from too good to be true/looks like an amazing deal type things you'll have eliminated 99+% of potential bad listings

I second Coinfrog. All positive Feedback and returns accepted is what I try to always look for in a coin seller.

Thanks all for your advice.
I took the plunge and got this 1906D Barber half at what I think is a good price.

https://www.ebay.com/itm/1906-D-Den...U10jktw%253D

Update: It looks to grade at a solid G04, which is valued at $16 in my 2018 Red Book and $18 in the NumisMedia FMV priceguide.

For pricing coins use Red Book pricing only as a reference. Use eBay past sales to get the actual coin value. You paid the going eBay value for your coin.

I bought some items off of Duke's website, specifically these wheat cents for my collection:

1911D
1913D
1939D

Total for all three coins was $11.50 shipped

try out Mbarrcoins. If you are fine with leaving eBay, Mbarrcoins.com also has better prices, and I have been extremely satisfied with all of my purchases from them. They have good prices, great costumer service, and really fast shipping
