Simply want to know how rim separation hurts a coins grading potential. I do not own this coin. Just see it often. Can't find any definitive answer on it. Thx.

Struck very slightly off center. A very common minor error.
In this case, would make no difference to the value.

Very significant errors are much harder to value, and values are heavily dependent the extent of the error, and on whatever the current market demand happens to be.

That is why it is hard to get to a definitive answer.

An individual attempting to make a great set of those would not want that one. However, depending on the rest of the coins appearance, many might want that one. Please show entire coin.

As always great answers. As I said I do not own this coin, and the pictures are fuzzy. The obverse not bad. But I will post a couple anyway. The Marylin Monroe face birthmark could be considered a nice addition. jk. 1920 D. Actually looks good. Toning a bit loud. Seller says sharp strike.

I don't think the rim issue affects grade/value.

Yea. I decided to get it as I like the strike for what I can see, and tone I bet is lighter in reality, as they always seem to be in hand, so expecting a nice coin. Risk in everything. No risk...no reward.

I name my coins. This one a no brainer....'Marylin'.

I'd like to see better photos of this coin once you have it in hand. Something feels a bit off from these photos and I can't quite identify what.

Fuzzy reverse pic is to camouflage the bands. Is a good strike though.
