Here is another PCGS gripe on there slab for the 1988 Lincoln cent variety they list the variety RDV-006 wide am that makes some people think and try to sell the 1988 cent as the wide am as the variety, all 1988 and 1988D Lincoln cents are wide am.

The problem probably stems from the RDV-006's listing in the Cherrypickers Guide being lumped into the Wide AM reverses of 1998-2000. It seems like the CPG is one of the variety references that all TPGs recognize, so PCGS is likely going off of that. (I might be wrong but this makes sense)

I absolutely agree that all references should stop using "Wide AM" to describe the 1988 RDV-006. Changing the CPG is a good first step because of how prevalent it is.

If the coin community needs a cutesy nickname so bad, just call it the "Flared G".

I have mine which is a 65RD. From what I can tell with all PCGS Slabbed Examples none exist over 65RD and the ones that do are improperly attributed.
