Main issue I see with the coin is the vertical scratch to the right of the shield. The dark splotches is just gunk. The coin had considerably more gunk when I bought it from the LCS but most of it is gone with a half-day soak in acetone. Should I try soaking it longer?
Grade low enough to try some patient work with a sharpened orange stick. (IF you wish). If it was mine, I wouldn't bother. Some ancient coins require this kind of treatment after initial cleaning, after recovery from ground burial.
What remains (the black stuff), is most probably a silver sulfide / oxide combination. Acetone or any other organic solvent has zero effect on the inorganic oxides or sulfides of silver. Mechanical removal may help, but if you are ham fisted in your attempt to remove any of the black stuff, there is always some risk involved.
