I should have held this contest a while back, but I simply couldn't think of anything challenging, interesting, or fun to do. And so, this morning while browsing I was thinking how fun the contest was where (I believe it was) GO posted tiny bits of varying world coins, and challenged us to name each coin and country represented. That contest drove me crazy for a week, but when I finally got all the countries in, I was elated. Best contest ever, IMO. And so, I have stolen that idea for my own contest, but with an important twist. I have 23 pictures of coins with Kittys on. To qualify, I only ask the name of the country of the coin, but I will give extra points if the denomination and/or year is given. Many coins are common circulating coins of countries, but others are bullion commemoratives. PLEASE: Don't post your guesses here, PM/Email them to me directly. The prize offered to the contestant to get all the countries is one Australian 1960 Florin. In case no one gets them all, the contest shall end two weeks from today, Sunday October 11, 2008. The winner will be whoever gets the most countries correct.  And on to the Fun! I won't even attempt to guess at these. When it comes to foreign, I don't know what the heck I'm doing. Nice kitties though! I will just sit back and watch the foreign pros at work.

Alright! Many thanks to everyone who played the game.  I hope you all had fun. Out of the many entries I got, the is the first one, and then the first correct one. Coinaholic submitted his entry first, and got 23 coins right! I am not sure if he missed #12 by accident or by design. He didn't miss anything, I did! The answer was there, but hiding. This is what I get for going through too many emails all at once.Less than a minute behind him was Snowman with all 23 coins correct. We had a bit of a challenge as both of these participants submitted #23 as Lebanon, when I knew the coin was Syrian. We checked it out, and both countries had the exact same coin. Well, I messed up! Therefore, I will send Coinaholic his choice of either an 1960 or an 1957 Florin, and send the remaining coin to snowman since they were both correct in their entirety. :) Yep! JAB, those are the answers you sent, and since they came from my captions on my various gallery pics, I figured I was entitled to use 'em.

Hi Kitty, got my prize today, had a little Aussie introduction and rearrangement party! She is very well placed next to her countries cousins! Thank you once again! She's a beauty, and has a good home!
Good packaging too! Will have to remember that recipe, simple and effective!
