While it is difficult to see your coin well, many times a weak "L" is from either post mint damage of some type around the edge, OR more likely, many times the weak "L" is from what is called a grease filled die during the minting process. This is a fairly common occurrence and adds no additional value above face. Your coin does not look "off centre".

@marcusane, first welcome to CCF. Second, I agree with @merclover that this looks like a normal curculated '73-D Cent. Unless there is something on the reverse that is different, this coin is a spender.
