For John100

A partial clip is when a type 1 planchet get cliped, but not much, then by getting its edge raise to be a type 2 planchet the clipped area get folded inward.

Correct me if I'm wrong please.

ok, would you pay any premium for this coin ? Large clips on toonies are kind of rare, seen like 5 in 20 years or so.

The main thing here is that the coin has a full rim. Therefore nothing is "clipped" per se. However, I digress.

There simply was not enough metal at those three spots to full form the rim. So, yes, the Type 1 blank was clipped, but the Upset Mill (used to put the rim on the blank, creating a planchet) obviously corrected that. Yet, the lack of metal is reflected in the dovetail rims.

US error collectors call this a "rim clip" because the incomplete punched blank has only impacted the rim itself.

Here are other examples:

So yes - it is a keeper!! Good eye!!

A "partial clip" to me, would be synonymous with an "incomplete punched planchet"

A big thanks to you SPP-Ottawa, much clearer now. Realy appreciated.

I have another question : is there 3 rim clip or is there one of theme a Blaskly effect? I thought that there could be no Blaskly effect because almost no metal was removed.

I see three rim clips. You will not get a Blakesley Effect if there is enough metal to form a partial rim.
