Hi everyone, My name is Lisa and I'm from Kentucky. I'm new to collecting and have really just collected coins so far. I hope to learn from you all and be able to add to my very small collection.

Welcome

Couple of things - Wear cotton gloves (oil from your fingers is bad) and don't clean your coins (kills the value). Read as many posts as you can... lots of great stuff here.

Thank you for the welcome :) I won't handle them with my bare hands any more, I didn't know that.

Welcome to the community. There is such a wealth of knowledge available to you. You will see many that look at the pictures posted but few reply. Pay attention to those who reply. They can point you to resources you did not know existed. Yes, finger prints can spoil a great coin. Especially if you are opening up a mint set that has never been handled before. However if you want to make an ommelette, you have to break some eggs. Don't be afraid to dive in and look at the coins. Buy some penny rolls, making sure to look at both sides of the coin. Have fun. Pretend you are a kid again and see all of the details.
