Greetings

Heya! Both of these are examples of Machine Doubling, which is not really considered an error. It is produced by die jitter during the strike, and results in some minor doubling around the devices. Unfortunately, not of any commercial value.

@Alexander999, wszystkie twoje posty '10p' zawieraja takie defekt. :)

If it happened at the mint during the minting process, it's a mint error.

@USSID18 although that is technically correct, most English collectors would refer to this as a 'minor variety,' or even a 'poor strike.' Errors are not collected as widely in the UK, and thusly, the threshold for actually referring to something as a mint error is much higher than in the US or Canada. Again, Machine Doubling is not necessarily an occurrence which falls outside of the normal manufacture of coins, and many mints (including The Royal Mint) consider it a normal part of the striking process. It is for this reason that NGC, PCGS, etc will not certify this type of variety as a mint error.

norantyki- Yes, understood. Fortunately or unfortunately, there are a few (many) things lost in translation, terminology, definitions, explanations and process between countries and the numismatic community.
