Lets all write what your best deal was, on the internet, flee marker etc. Pictures would be great. And what you got it for. My best deal was probably 1914 D, I got it from ebay from the roll I bought for 2.00$. Thant's all I can remember so far.

About 3 years ago I pulled an 1836 Greek 5 Lepta (KM#16; 1,000 minted) in VF out of my dealer's 25 cent box. I asked him why such an old, nice coin was in the junk box. He laughed and said, "I wondered what happened to that. But since I got it for practically nothing in a bulk buy, it is still yours for 25 cents."

1918/7-D Buffalo raw on ebay. Was not cheap but worth a tad more than I paid for it. Sent to PCGS for a VG10 grade.

my great-great-grandfather was a coin dealer and although his 2nd wife (40 years younger than him) sold most of his coins after he died, my grandfather ended up with a box of civil war letters, which unfortunately only filled up the top 1/2 inch. underneath was about a dozen coin albums that she must have missed with a bunch of 1820s-1910s coins in them. so I got them for free =]

Bought some Standing Liberty quarters for about 15 dollars (I think a total of 10 or 12). The buyer said they were 1926-1930 with no MM but almost all of them had mint marks so that was a nice find.

I haven't had many good buys or great deals. I got a Morgan dollar for 13$ and a SAE for 17$ when silver was over 19 dollars an ounce, that was a good deal at the time. I've been pulling a lot of silver out of circulation lately. Last month yeilded 6 dimes and three quarters. I guess that counts as a good deal. I found a 1909-s in F condition in my moms old wheat pennies. But that was given to me so not really a purchasing deal. I guess you can consider the 2 riech mark I got from the flea market for $8.50 when the local coin shop sells them for $16 a deal.

I got a 1877-S Trade dollar from my dealer for $40. But it has been cleaned. Plus it is not a fake. I think that was the best deals I ever had. Recently, this last Sunday, there was a coin show and I picked up a Chinese 1939 1 cent. The 1997 Krause list it at 8.00 in XF and I got it for $1. He wasn't sure what year it was since there were some years written and scratched off and I knew it was 1939.

I found a 1939 D Jefferson in g-vg while going through a bag of old nickels at my local coin shop. Got it for 10 cents.
Best circulation find was 1909 VDB in MS condition.

Here are two huge finds of mine from Canada: 1913-S type II Buffalo nickel from the $1 bin 1955 NSF variety Canadian one cent left in a $6 Whitman folder Each was obtained for about 1% of book value.

Just a thought---Can you find a Mint State coin in circulation? Are the two not mutually exclusive?

Nice finds. Rohumpy: most of the time if you find it in circulation it is not an unc. However, it does take a little bit to produce wear ona coin.
Best deal: From junk silver: 1 1942/1D Merc. Currently happily residing in an NGC holder, XF-45. Cost: .30 plus slab fee. Value: priceless.
Also from junk silver: 1921 S Walker, in AG, plus a F+ 1938 D.

I have gotten quite a few nice deals over the years but one occurred just last week. I was trying to win a dime planchet off the bid board at my local shop. It had previously been marked "$5" on the 2x2 which would be retail for a clad dime planchet and I won it with a high bid of $2.50. I got it home and noticed some toning around the rim and thought that it was kind of similar to silver coin rim toning. I popped that sucker out of the 2x2, weighed it, and sure enough- 2.5 grams- I had just purchased a silver dime planchet for $2.50

I know I've gotten some really good deals. I used to buy world coin lots off of ebay before people figured out what was going on (late 90s). However, for some reason the bargain I remember the best was 20c from a dealers junk bin for a 1906 50c piece from Liberia in VF (asw .3450 oz, mintage 24,000). Not a coin most would enjoy, but I really like it.
