NGC - Coin of the Day: This 1926 American Sesquicentennial Gold $2.50 was struck to celebrate the 150th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence. The low relief of the coins probably hurt their popularity when they were initially marketed to the public, but they are now coveted by collectors.
"Coveted" is a bit overstated. These coins are plentiful in all grades with the possible exception of "superslabs" and the fabled Sinnock proofs. Advice : since there are so many , carefully discriminate when contemplating purchase. The prices have dropped significantly over the passed ten years.
