Are these worth a premium? I've seen posts about them before, but variety vista doesn't seem to list it with their color coding as a rare variety

Yes they have a significant premium in high grades.

In lower grades, still a slight premium imo, but not a lot.

Interesting, I had a 1970 sitting on my desk so I checked it, and I believe it's the same variety. Will post in a moment.

Forgive my ignorance but why is this a variety. Is this a 1968 reverse on a 1970 dime? How can you tell? Thanks.

You had me searching through the handful of current dimes I had on hand! The one thing I learned is how poorly struck most business strike Roosevelts really are. The one feature that stood out to me was the lack of split bands on the torch. They hold up in shininess, but fail in the details. Roosevelts don't hold a candle (torch?) to Mercuries!
