Thoughts? Looks very similar to the L on LIBERTY.

EDIT: Starting to think it might just be an indent from another coin but I know too little about these to make a guess.

Is it raised or incuse? I believe a dropped letter should be raised, while most damage will be incuse.

Edit: looks incuse, and also looks like the rim has been widened around the letter, implying that it took place after the strike (since the collar and pressure from the die would have prevented the rim from expanding during the strike.
