I think this one has a good shot at being a DDO, albeit a minor one. It is very similar to VV's DDO-002... Also I submitted a 1940 cent with similar doubling to Wexler and it turned out to be a new listing. |

Agree with Tanman, a quite nice minor DDO. Probably not strong enough to get listed in VV, but if not already in Wexler's listings a worthy submission. |

Some of Wexlers Listings only show a listing number but NO pictures how are we to match with no pictures. There are 8 showing for the 1940 D with NO pictures. I don't get it or I am missing something. If ya think its only minor DDO at best. Then it would be best just to send it to PCGS for a grade not a variety I would think.  Edited by Daves Errors

Wexler's page for Wheat cent doubled dies is incomplete. He hasn't finished adding pictures or descriptions for many of the varieties in his files. It's possible he has already seen this exact variety and it's one of the 8 that are not pictured. You could send this coin to him to find out, or you could wait until he finishes that section of the site. However, because of health issues and a large number of submissions, he hasn't worked on any of the incomplete doubled die listings in well over a year. If you really want an answer, I would recommend sending it in. Plus, there is still a chance of this being a new listing. |

I sent 7 coins to MR Wexler end of last year took 3 months to get back. He sent me a email Informing me of his med stuff and a sorry for the slow time. SO I have been sending to MR WILES to keep Wexlers load down.

Like TB said, this one is probably too minor for Wiles. Might be best for you to just hold onto it then!
7 coins is above Wexler's max coins per submission, that may be partly the reason for the long turnaround then.
It's been a month since I last sent coins to Wexler, so things may have changed since, but Wexler has been processing coins quickly as of late. I got my coins back in 1-2 weeks.

I had a look at CC and VV and WEXLERS site Coop, no matches unless it's one of the ones Wexler has not posted pictures of yet. I'll send it to Wexler and see what he sends back it might be a match to one he has listed  |

Not a match coop: Look at my R and the top of my U it's Different also my coin has none of the markers as the 002 I need Wexlers pictures lol to see if one is a match. I'll just send it to Wexler with some other of my coins and see what he will say. Thanks everyone for your help.
