Hello Coin Community,

Found this penny while CRH, I've never seen something like this before. I found it checking for the Close AM, otherwise, I probably would have missed it. Is this a common occurrence?

Looks like the beginning of zinc rot to me. Look at the E of AMERICA and there is already white gunk next to it.

It does seem like this dot was there before the Zinc Rot would have set in.

Most likely some kind of plating debris,spender.

Note the split plating above the roof on the right side. I think I can see a split on your coin on that area. If so you will see gray and it will not flatten with a toothpick. The zinc is getting air and starting to rot. Spend it.
