I have a 1963 proof nickel that is a deep purple but still has the mirror proof surfaces.
The coin is quite cool looking but I didn't know if it was anything special or not. Should I post a picture of it?

I have seen some wonderful toning on Jeffersons and actually see "golden" proofs fairly regularly.
Years ago I bought a roll of "black beauties". A few of those had amazing cobalt blue spots. Wish I knew where the heck I put them!

Ha ha, I'm just sashaying through the forum and I'm like....huh? I didn't make a proof nickel thread?
I guess I'm going to have to post my pictures now even though the ones currently posted are going to be of a far better quality.
But not right now.....its like 2:00 A.M.

Nice Jeffersons !
These coins take on some of the coolest toning , and from what I have seen with mine a wide array of colors .
That 81 is a super looking coin !
