The obverse shows King George IV. The reverse has been enamelled. I don't know why people did this, but they did it a lot with coins of this era, and I have several of them. I could understand it more readily if the coin were drilled to become a pendant, or otherwise mounted to be worn as a brooch, but there are plenty of them just like yours. Your shilling is "sterling", which means it is 92.5% silver. An interesting piece: it is fascinating to speculate when the watch and the coin begain their journey together ...
