Thoughts? Perhaps rolled metal?

That's possible, but the area is raised, not incuse, and I don't see much metal movement.

Anyone have any ideas?

It's raised? Oh, I guess in that case, it might be a die gouge? LOL I'm pretty much guessing at this point.

Looks REALLY large for a die gouge.

Calling Dr. Coop! Or someone I don't know. My guess is still a die break.

Ah that's funny! All good man.

When die chips become large enough, they become die breaks.

Die chips will be raised as it would be a reduction on the die. So if this is raised it might be die related. But if this is incuse, then it is damage or a struck through something. Just can't tell for sure which it is. Take a few shots rotating the coin to see if if is raised or incuse. Keep in mind that the metal when moved, can be pushed to be appearing as raised, but just pushed metal. Looks like it also wraps around the corner, under the nose? So it maybe a struck through, instead of damage. Just some more images with the light at different angles to see for sure what is going on?

Thanks Coop, here are the images. The second image makes me think metal was pushed over.
