Hi,
I'm wondering if this coin is off-centre and whether that's anything worth saving? It's a 1962 penny.
Thanks in advance!

So here's where I am such a neophyte! Would a coin be off centre on both sides? Are they both struck at the same time?
The other side appears normal to me other than a hanging 2.

Very minor rim finning, which is normal and within tolerances. Just an indication of a strong strike (note the details in the devices).

Entrepid. How are you making out with your bag of 1962 pennies? I have a bag of 1963's that I haven't opened yet.

Tee, I'm going through it slowly but don't see any reason to keep most of the coins. There are a lot with finger prints on them. I'm looking for harps and guitars and doubling. None so far. Most of the bag is hanging 2's. Also trying to keep the ones with minimum scratches and no discoloration. Probably about 1/4 way through the bag at this point.

I go through mint bags regularly - I am always amazed how many coins have fingerprints of mint workers on them. I imagine they sifted through the coins by hand, on a conveyor belt, plucking out errors.

That said - the reason why I go through mint bags - is the search for errors.

So many fingerprints! Almost none without.
