Hi all! Does anyone know if there are other plated medals (specifically from the US Mint, not 3rd party) like the 2004 Westward Journey series silver-plated Jefferson medal?

Plating medals with silver or gold is not a practice in which the US Mint typically engages.

That said...

The US Mint produced a 1.5-inch gold-plated bronze medal for the US Bicentennial - it was part of the National Bicentennial Medal Series. It's a fairly common piece - you shouldn't have too much difficulty finding one for sale.

It has also produced gold-plated versions of the Presidential Series of small bronze medals, but so have many third parties! So, it can be difficult to determine if a medal is an original US Mint product or an aftermarket modification.

I'll give your query some additional thought to see if I can recall any others from the modern era.

Thanks @commems I appreciate the info! I know it's not a typical practice, but was surprised to see a few and was curious if anyone knew more about which ones have been done.
