Not my coin, but I am amused by the grade. What are your thoughts on the grade?

The obverse looks weakly struck but the coin appears to be a lustrous mint state piece. My guess is the holder says MS63RD, maybe even 64 if generous.

Well, I think we are all in agreement that this coin is WAY overgraded.

For a cool $12,500 this coin could be yours!

MS66+......unbelievable job NGC!

The thing that aggravates me the most about this.....

I submit coins that are way nicer and get crummy grades back (if they say the color isn't questionable). Proves to me why I won't trust NGC anymore. They should buy this coin back and put it in a 62-63 holder where it belongs.

I was also in the 63 range, and the color does look very questionable. There are technically only a few larger " distracting" marks, but there is so much friction rub on the high points. In combination with a weak strike, it's obvious this is over graded. This will never sell at 66+ prices ( although never say never).

Maybe it got that grade because the Longacre L is so sharp and prominent . I agree this coin is over graded .
