I have a feeling as I go through coins, a sinking feeling, about some that I know will work me out for a while.

So as much as we owe the world to the website for Ptolemy below as it is beyond amazing, you can always find your coin there, boy I dread when I see a just about Fine to VF Ptolemy of common weight come through my hands.

(Some of the Seleucid Bronzes become a lot of work as well and I get corrected if I am not careful a lot. And of course Islamic if you don't read the script which I really need to learn. Some of the Jewish Priest Kings can take me down for a while but at least they have a small number of choices, the classic double cornucopia types.)

There's no shortage of challenging series. Middle Eastern coppers, Western Kshatrapas, Indian Princely States, etc.

If we could all just agree to post only Parthians from now on, I'd sure appreciate it.

The coins I love the most are not particularly dreadful to ID... so I would say what I dread most are those in poor conservation states... the ones worn or corroded enough as to turn an enjoyable activity into something painful .
