My brother-in-law recently gave ma a bunch ofr coin wrappers he got from his great aunt's estate. They are from a bank that no longer exists. Being a freak about historical things, and with banks going under on a daily basis these days, I thought it would be really cool to start collecting vintage coin wrappers. Problem is, I don't know where to begin to find old coin wrappers. I do occasionally come across a few roll-searching but that is not very often. Anybody have any ideas where I might acquire some of them for a collection?

Hi Hockingzig

That sounds like it could be pretty cool ,I can picture them in decade sets or something all in frames .

as far as how to aquire them ? maybe you could post a wanted to buy in the BST or something . The very early ones will more than likely be pretty difficult if not expensive to aquire .

what dates are the ones you have ?

I don't know the dates of them because I haven't done any research on them yet but I would guess they are from the 50-60's time frame. I know there must be other people who collect them I just need to make a connection with them. I have a bunch of these to trade,(see photo)so I could get some that way if I can connect to a group of collectors!

This is why I do not buy the so called "original bank rolls" on ebay :( I'm sure they are out there. Cool idea though about collecting them, good luck.

I was thinking the same thing ceaton. But it does sound like a nice collection. I agree with Metalman, having a nice collection framed.. I like to be surrounded by things I like.

I've had the same problem... I lucked into a couple rolls from my local bank that had been wrapped in the old multi-denomination papers, and I've wanted more ever since... It's just hard to find them without paying a steep premium on somebody's "unsearched bank roll"

Sometimes you can find them on ebay without the coins.
