How can I tell if my 1965 Churchill is satin or dull?

Yours is dull, it has that cloudy colouring.

However I think the OP has the satin finish as the coin does look different.
PS - lets not correct our American and Canadian friends too harshly, it may be a crown worth 5/-, but it is the same size and rough weight of an old American or Canadian silver dollar coin.

Plus let us not forget, there was an 1804 Bank of England Dollar.
Loving Halfcrowns. British and Commonwealth coins 1750 - 1950 and anything Kiwi.
If it's round, shiny and silvery I will love it.
