Are the letters bound in or just stored in the book by a previous ownder? What are these letters about, can you post photo's? Report this Post to the Staff
Mr T Pillar of the Community Australia 2180 Posts	Posted 10/18/2020 06:28 am I'll try and get photos but one is loose and the other is glued in - they are just letters dated 1906 and 1910 saying with compliments of the deputy master of The Royal Mint. Report this Post to the Staff
Eligius Valued Member Netherlands 175 Posts	Posted 10/18/2020 2:11 pm So the books were sent as a gift to the first owner by the Deputy Master (William Ellison-Macartney). I do not think all copies were distribited this way as the price is neatly printed on the front leaf. My copies state 10 shillings in Volume I and 6 shillings in Volume II. He worked at The Royal Mint from 1883 to 1926, beginning as a clerk and retiring as Superintendent of the Mint.
