Cmon LIM, I would like to OWN them before I go to bed as well!!! My wife has the Centenary of Federation set and I find the coins VERY desirable. Just what I need, something else on my list!!!

Hey lim118 on the coloured 50c piece, is that an "official" colouring?

What do you mean by offical colouring?
They we not put into circulation like this. The ram coloured them for the proof issue.
Lim will correct me if I am wrong.

What I meant was it done by the mint or some other third party.

I wonder, the first one, coloured 50 cents, seems like flat and all the figures except "50" are given with paint. Is that correct? Kangaroo and ostrich aren't actually "minted"?

RenaL, the Maccas guide (one of our local catalogues) has a footnote on the proof $1: "The Unc. coin has a raised map of Australia while the map on the proof is painted onto a flat surface.". I don't know if the 50c is painted on flat or raised surface or not; there's no footnote for the 50c.

The colouring was done at the RAM...that should make it "official".
