A local film-maker needed a coin collection, and someone to play a coin collector, for a faith-based movie called "The Bridge" (about suicide). Anyway, playing a coin collector was a bit of a stretch for me , but I figured my Dansco 7070 Type Set album would be more than adequate to represent a coin collection. The director explained that the coin-collecting father would get mad when he realizes his young son took coins from the collection to buy candy. He added that the scene would start with the boy finding the album in his dad's room, removing some of the coins and then depositing them in his pocket. I then realized I should've brought my Jefferson nickel album. Well, the director and I compromised by simply having the boy look through the album and point at coins he planned to steal. The coin collector would later come into the room and get angry when he notices some empty holes in the album (I removed the row of modern coins representing the SBA dollar, Sac dollar and State Quarter). Don't worry though, the father ends up forgiving the boy, thus stopping the boy's thoughts of jumping off "The Bridge." Of course, I might not have been as forgiving if the boy had swiped the Seated dollars.

What a fun story and an interesting role for your 7070. It's a star as I am sure your collection is. Thanks for sharing this. :)

So glad to hear that "coins and stealing" had a happy ending. So you're not a real coin collector? You just play one in the movies! Would like to see that 7070 star of that movie!

Very interesting! I am glad you were able to keep your 7070 from doing its own stunts.

Quote: For those who are interested, I tried to get some images of my Dansco 7070 with my wife's iPad. I removed the plastic album sleeves, but the images still aren't ideal. Looking good to me!

jbuck, I just checked the link to your awesome set. Did you notice we both have the same two coins to start off the Commemorative section?
