Philip V gold Cob 2 Escudos ND (1708-13)-Mo MS64 NGC, Mexico City mint, KM53.1, S-M30. 6.70gm. From the 1715 Plate Fleet. A marvelous example boasting exceptionally sharp detail and the characteristic satiny surfaces of a shipwreck issue, a quality admired by many collectors. The planchet is a rich gold color, endowing the piece with a well-deserved feel of a true treasure find. Close to the finest graded, with only a single MS65 example seen by NGC.

This is a really nice piece, certainly never circulated Fleet material, fully lustrous with no sign of the slight matte "frost" (AKA the ever-so-slight sea-washed effect that salvaged gold, though almost totally immune to salt water "corrosion", can suffer from).

If we want to really scrutinize... the shield-side doubling is a bit of a drawback. Also, it's a strong/deep strike but not a particularly GOOD one, relatively, in terms of detail getting evenly imparted onto the planchet. The mintmark (which was amended from the MXo to Mo right in this time frame - a useful attribution tool) is completely missing... as is, of course, any part of the date.

Though I'm much better with Mexico silver (reales) variations, I wanted to say that NGC's stated date range is a bit wide and it should be more like 1712-1714 (no pomegranate ^ to the NW of the Bourbon fleurs). Looking up similar pieces in archives, you find that Heritage actually auctioned THIS piece (Rudman sale) and the description did indeed narrow it close to that:
