Just found this crh and wanted to share! Not only a small date, but also mis-struck as you can tell by Abe's position on the coin as well as the rim crack on the left side of the obverse of the coin. I feel like there is a different name for that but I'm drawing a blank.

It is a large date. Might be a slight MAD on both sides?

How do you figure it for a large date? I did every test I could find including the linear test and it passed them all. Where did I go wrong?

Yep. Large date and I agree with John and NS about a slight MAD on both sides.
The upper end of the loop of the 9 points towards the top of the MM on Large dates.
With small dates it has a sharper curve and points more towards the 7.
