What hobbies do you have (not counting coin collecting) ? At the moment, I am an active participant in postcrossing. And just today I probably found another hobby for myself. These are Hot Wheels cars. What do you think about it ?

I collect comics and the artworks, and still do, but the pandemic slow it down a bit. I used to collect stamps and covers a while back, particularly US.

There's an existing thread on this topic. I can't put my finger on it though. Maybe Jbuck or another mod could find it unless they want to just let this thread fly. During the nice weather I love carving spoons. I've gotten pretty good over the last 3 or 4 years. I give most of them away as gifts. I'll also do commissions. For example if let's say a tree that someone's grandfather planted came down in a storm they would approach me to have a couple of spoons carved from the wood. I am also a Robin Hood collector. I've got maybe 500 books from different authors, publishers, languages and printings. From antique figurines to kids toys. String puppets to movie posters. Since I've been more interested in coins though my Robin Hood budget has shrunken to zero.

I've got a small macabre antiques collection. I call long distance running a hobby, and I collect the running bibs that I get from different 5k and 10k runs. I also do art as a hobby, drawing and painting, mostly ink.

Quote: Possibly this thread? Well that thread is specifically related to collecting not hobbies in general I think.

Semi classic Mercedes cars. I have three:-
1998 W210 E55 AMG, just over 60,000 miles covered. The whole car built by AMG, not just the drive train and suspension. Built in Alterafferbach, at a time when AMG was a separate company to Mercedes. 1998 W202 C280 V6 built in Bremen. This is my daily driver.
2004 C209 CLK500 coupe, also just over 60,000 miles covered.
Had a 1978 W116 450 SEL 6.9 for 15 years, sold to a friend, but I still get to drive it occasionally.
Also a gemcutter. Yellow Australian sapphire is my favorite stone to cut.

Quote: I've got a small macabre antiques collection. Curious what some of those might be@PNW?! Hobbies/collecting go hand in hand for me. I too collect macabre antique/modern oddities. Also enjoy art whether it's drawing, sculpting, painting. And to take it to the extreme I combine the two.... macabre art. My job also revolves around another hobby, so we'll add playing/collecting/repairing/building guitars. Woodworking in general.

Following up on the my previous post, I put a little shoutout to CCF on the credits page of the chapter we just dropped. Look at the top right above (We're Recruiting!) The outfit isn't that bad, just a normal nightgown, but I don't know how much skin is too much, so erring on the side of caution and just removing the problem.

One of my non-collecting hobbies is wild water swimming. I usually swim in the sea from about late April to December, but, with no pools open due to the pandemic, I've been swimming right through the winter this year. Here I am in January, photographed going for a sunset swim by my neighbor! In the past I've been for swims in the Amazon, the Dead Sea, the Galapagos Islands, Lake Taupo in New Zealand and Lake Lucerne in Switzerland. On my sea swims I've been joined by a wild dolphin and a seal (though not at the same time!)
