"1759" Martha Washington "Quarter," Judd-2116, Pollock-2082, Low R.7 Waffle Cancelled MS60 ANACS. Obverse has a bust of Martha Washington with the date 1759, while the reverse shows Mount Vernon. The Mint calls these "nonsense dies" because they lack reference to the current date and the denomination. Struck with a reeded edge in multilateral cupronickel-copper (i.e. "clad") composition, and eventually waffle cancelled by the Mint via a pass through destructive machinery.
