Your photo is not clear enough to determine what caused that. Damage, lamination, strike-through ? Try to focus better on the area in question and always crop the photos.

It looks like an old peeled lamination. The sharper edges of the peel have been worn by continued circulation.

Looks like a chisel or some other device has been pressed or stamped into it.

I'd like to provide a better photo but there are limitations to my phone. It's from my old phone S7 and my iPhone 11 doesn't have a telephoto lens so I can't do close ups on that.
