I found this nickel and was wondering if anyone could share their insight on the obverse. It looks like there is a floating leaf on his collar.
Appreciate any thoughts.

Looks like a partial fill of grease on die on that area. I'll be adding side by sides soon. (It's a 'D' nor a 'P' mintmark)

After view the side by side, I see it was a die polishing issue that reduced and removed some devices.
