I've always seen the E Pluribus Unum on the coins, but wondered. What does that mean? Probably you always wonder also. Well I decided to to look it up:
E-P-U-Meaning?-What-Is-The-Motto-Of-The-Country?
So I decided to use a coin that was not familiar to me to add the information onto.

I picked the last of the commemorative series, the last one. 1936 York County half dollar. So I noticed the link mentioned the EPU was the motto of the United States. So that confused me. So I looked up information on the the motto and found this:

Stuff I remembered and forgot. So I considered this source is correct. Didn't realize until I read that the motto was not on the bills, and sometimes it was. But the background helped me fill in a lot of blanks.

I found this on the search before I started my journey:

Quote:
E Pluribus Unum - Latin for "out of many, one" — the motto of the U.S.

I noted the tag of the motto on this and dug a bit deeper and found the above information.

Latin 101. As we used to say in high school, "Latin - first it killed the Romans, now it's killing me."
