For the last couple of years or so I have been trying to put together a set of these DU coins, some people call then tokens, some call them medallions. About a month ago I finally completed the set thru 2019. I have been told that because of the pandemic they did not produce the coins in 2020 and they are not producing the coins in 2021 and that the series may be over and not produced any more.

The coin series actually started in 1996, but in 1987 they produced a 50th Anniversary coin.

I have been trying to get in touch with Dansco to see if they are producing the custom albums yet, but I have not heard back from them, so for now I put then in a couple of Whitman albums.

Nice set! Congrats on the recent addition of the (potentially) last piece. IMO, it always feels good to complete a set! Thanks for sharing!

If they couldn't be exchanged/redeemed for a specific value, they are not tokens (i.e., money substitutes) - medal would be the proper term.

Just FYI: Numismatically, "Medallion" refers to large medals; the term is often misused as a reference to any medal regardless of size, but it was initially intended to distinguish large from small pieces.

The coins are purchased at a DU banquet, each coin has a number stamped on it, there is also a number matching ticket that goes into a bucket. The coins are good for whatever was being raffled off, Shotgun, rifle, pistol, wildlife print, ETC, for that corresponding coin. Throughout the night different raffles are held, if my coin wins something then does that mean that it is really a token, and all the losing coins are just a medal

They're all medals.
