I have a question about the SBA dollars. I now have three that on the reverse side the star under the "I" in America ous not touching the feather. All the others I have are touching. Mine are S mint 79, D mint 80,81.

Your comparing different years to one another.
The dies change slightly each year.
Compare all 79's or all 80's and see if there is a difference.

The 1999-P, 1999-P Proof and the '1999-D have the different stars than the earlier SBA's.

Jimmyd, I have about 20 other 79 and that's the only one that the star isn't touching the feather

Maybe several reverses. I wonder what is going on?

Well the design didn't come out till 20 years later. Check to see if the date again. It might have been altered with a new obverse? Like a Magicians coin. On them you can see a doubled rim on them:
