The Identification and Classification of Connecticut Coppers (1785-1788)
by Randall P. ("Randy") Clark

I pre-ordered my own copy a few weeks ago. I was told the book is supposed to begin shipping this week, I am hoping it arrives soon. I will post a more in-depth review, once I have it in hand, and have had a chance to get into it somewhat. It looks very well researched, and comes highly recommended by serious students of the fascinating Connecticut Copper coinage. While another top researched reference and history book isn't going to be inexpensive, this one is not immune from that, with a price of $120.00 it is much less expensive than many other similarly sized books (704 pages with coins in all large sized color photos), published previously with only black and white photos or line drawings and of much lesser quality.

The Colonial Coin Collectors Club (C4) is the publisher of Randy Clark's new book on varieties of Connecticut Coppers. Following is the information from the club's website:

With this book, Randy has filled a century long gap in the availability of a concise and thorough study of the Connecticut Coppers series. This is the first book in 100 years to focus solely on Connecticut Coppers, with enough depth, images and technical details to help specialists and casual collectors alike, dive into details of the series.

Beginning with a 128 page historical overview of the series and its collecting history, this book then provides 576 pages of large sized photographs of every die, both obverse and reverse, known as of publication. For collectors of the Connecticut series, this alone is an unbelievable tool. This book now provides collectors with a single source for historical and attribution information which previously had to be cobbled together from myriad sources.

This work represents the 13th book which C4 has partnered with the author(s), to bring to print.

All pre-orders have now shipped as of yesterday! My copy is due to arrive in about 6-10 days, hopefully sooner.

Excellent!

A bit outside my expertise. Okay, way outside, but still good to see growth in the numismatic knowledge base.

Jbuck you would not believe the order that got delivered to my door today, so many articles on error Ike dollars, I just picked up a 30 pound lot of error magazines, journals and misc. from the late 1960's through the early 2000's. So many Ike dollars in them, I need to enter them all into the database then I can start scanning some of the articles I want on my computer and will grab some of the cooler photos of the Ike errors to share here and with you!
