Hello all from Bay City Michigan
I found this quarter and was looking at it and noticed the I in the word IN was either polished off or was never there. Some input would be wonderful.

Ty all.

it looks like PMD because not only is the t partly faded off but the coin looks pretty scratched up. but imma leave it up to the pros.

Your Quarter does exhibit a lot of PMD as evidenced by the obvious nicks, dents and dings shown on the obverse. However, the barely visible T and I in IN GOD WE TRUST are most likely caused by a partially Grease Filled Die and not PMD. How do I know? Look at the rim of the coin adjacent to these letters. It is completely still intact and does not show any signs of PMD.

Yes, appears to be the result of a graese filled die. Love mint grease.
