Hi All,

I recently acquired a rather large estate collection of ancient coins, mostly Roman. I'm getting started on the silver coins and have identified most of them, but these are the outliers. The gentleman cleaned his own ancients with chemicals, so some of them have a bit of a scratchy look, however I would believe it if some of them turned out to be contemporary counterfeits or more modern forgeries.

I would love any assistance with identification and/or valuation. Thanks!

Only one Republican coin in this bunch.

To get it started, for number one:
C. Memmius, Roman Republic denarius. Might be a fouree, but I'm not sure.

#2 is from Chersonesos, Thrace, 4th century BC. Forepart of lion for the obverse - you'd have to rotate your obverse pic (the lower pic) 90 degrees counter-clockwise.

Maybe Knidos, Caria for the next one with the lion reverse. The obverse - Aphrodite? - seems off to me, so maybe the ID is wrong.

As Bob L correctly indicated, number 12 is Indo-Scythian. Specifically, it's a silver teteradrachm of Azes II, like the second coin down on this page.

For future ID requests providing a weight to the nearest tenth of a gram and a maximum diameter to the nearest millimeter will aid ID and provide some evidence regarding authenticity or not.
