I can't for the life of me tell if this is a damaged D or even a D at all. Any help is appreciated. Short of getting a fancy magnifying lense, these are (probably) the best pictures I can show. I've included both sides, in case that might prove helpful.

. Pics did not show. If you plan on getting into the hobby, you will need to buy a jewelers loupe.

Looks like a broken mintmark post, below the fields. This makes the void on die deeper, thus rising above the center of the mintmark. Looks like it was a D mintmark before the post broke off. All the rest of the coins from that die will show the same die event until the die is retired.
