Do they help protect the coins? or are they more for appearance? It seems unnecessary to me... but I am pretty green. I would appreciate some insight.

thanks

it sure helps but not that much. I think more as a dust cover.

I'm buying slipcovers for all of my Dansco albums. Not only should they help keep air from circulaing between the pages but they make a nice place-holder for the album when you take one off the shelf.

I have the covers for my Dansco nickle albums. It seems to finish off the album and make it look better. Obviously the manufacture says they are a good method of protection.........only time will tell.

I buy the slip covers after I have a significant portion of the set, and I am no longer opening it every other day...

The current slipcover offerings from Dansco are intended to act as a protective barrier for the coins, kind of like the old Intercept Shield albums. I purchased these new covers for each Dansco album I own.

I have a few and they really do add to the look of the album. They do "complete" it. Unfortunately, whenever I put together an order from one of the supply companies I start adding things to my shopping cart, like more albums, flips, boxes, etc. There just never seems room to justify adding the price of the slipcovers. I'd need so many that it seems silly to only buy a few, but all of them I need is just too much.

I use Whitman Classic Albums and each one is in an album cover. HOWEVER, they are called Zip Lock Plastic Bags. With over 100 Albums those are just as good as anything, maybe better and a lot cheaper.
